Private feeds do not belong in podcast search
Public podcasts are submitted to directories so anyone can discover them. A private RSS feed works differently: the URL itself gives a compatible player a route to personal episodes. Add it through the player’s private URL workflow, not its public search or publisher submission form.
Spkr shows currently supported podcast destinations from inside the app. Use that list because third-party capabilities can change independently.
General setup sequence
- Open the subscription or feed-sharing controls for your Spkr podcast.
- Choose a supported podcast player or copy the personal feed URL.
- In the destination app, use its “add by URL,” “follow by URL,” or equivalent private-feed action.
- Confirm that the Spkr show and recent episodes appear.
- Configure downloads, notifications, and playback inside that podcast app.
When Spkr offers a direct handoff to a compatible app, prefer it over manually copying the URL. It reduces transcription errors and avoids leaving the private address on the clipboard longer than necessary.
Protect the address
Do not publish the feed URL, submit it to directories, or include it in screenshots. Avoid pasting it into generic URL-checking tools or public support discussions. If you believe it has been exposed, contact Spkr support rather than continuing to share the same address while troubleshooting.
Diagnose a missing episode
First confirm the episode has finished processing in Spkr. Next, manually refresh the private show in the podcast app if that option exists. Check whether the player has hidden played episodes, restricted downloads to Wi-Fi, or paused background refresh.
If the show never appears, confirm that you used the app’s private-feed feature. Many podcast search boxes only query public catalogs and will not recognize a personal RSS URL.
The destination player controls refresh cadence and local downloads. Spkr controls episode generation and feed availability. Separating those responsibilities usually reveals where a delay begins.
